The FLIR E86-EST Handheld Thermal Camera is a non-contact screening tool that serves as a first line of defense against potential health risks. This FLIR EST thermal screening solution detects and visualizes heat to quickly identify individuals with an elevated skin temperature. With 464 × 348 thermal pixel resolution and a bright touchscreen display, the E86-EST offers accurate, easy-to-interpret temperature measurement. The battery-powered thermal camera is quick to set up and easy to operate for temporary or mobile screening settings. The on-camera FLIR Screen-EST Mode offers Manual, Operator, and Auto settings with features such as visual positioning guides, automatic sampling to maintain an updated temperature average, and graphic pass/fail indicators to reduce the burden on screening station operators. Compatibility with FLIR Screen-EST Desktop software (sold separately), an integrated tripod mount, and external power makes this camera a good fit for permanent installations as well.

Contagions such as COVID-19, SARS, and other diseases can produce symptoms such as elevated skin temperature-a possible sign of infection. While this FLIR thermal camera is not capable of detecting or diagnosing viruses, it is a US FDA registered camera that represents a simple, preliminary measure for mitigating further contagion and possible rebound, providing the confidence to return to normalcy.

FLIR Screen-EST Mode is an on-camera method for simplified measuring elevated skin temperature with the E86-EST. This mode can display an alarm when a temperature greater than a user defined threshold is detected against a sampled average value. The average can be updated manually using the remote operation button in Operator mode or automatically with each new screening in Auto mode. If the screening mode detects an individual with elevated skin temperature, they can then be evaluated using a medical device such as a thermometer. In this way, FLIR Screen-EST Mode provides a faster, safer, and more reliable method for conducting elevated skin temperature screening.
